Hello All!
I have now W7 and FSX. Have installed FS Captain, have installed VCOM to the PMDG aircraft. The window of FCOM is shown me in FSX but the Window inside is black. Also I have Multimonitors.
So I hope that you can help me to solve this problem.
Thx Rober.

Answer: FSCaptain has not yet been tested Windows 7.

From my experience: Question 1.2: Will FSCaptain run under Windows 7? Answer: FSCaptain works pretty well with Windows 7. Just take care of the usual UAC limitations.

Like capp said we actually have quite a few people running FSC under Windows 7 -- even 64-bit windows 7 -- with no problems.
The problems experienced by a few have usually been security-related, "the usual UAC limitations".
In every case so the workarounds of disabling UAC or ensuring you have admin rights to everything have made all problems go away.
I'm in the process of compiling a guide to overcoming these problems in the short run, in the long run I'll revise FSCaptain to avoid these issues once I know what they all are.
Stay tuned. Dutch

As long as your guide does not advice to disable UAC, I am fine with that

Maybe some more hints as you do not use Vista/Win7 by yourself. I develope software now and then as well, a few thousand people are using it according to my webservers log files. Once Vista was released I had a hard time with UAC as well, but there are no complaints anymore. First thing to do is writing all user data, databases etc. to the %AppData% folder (or to be specific, to a subfolder in there). You can read the directory from the system variable, it is available in all Windows versions and will always point to the right place on the system. It is user specific, so every user on a machine has their own directory. Second, if you want to modify files, which may be in a protected area like \Program Files, you have to elevate the programs' rights to Administrator. This may be true for the gauge installer, since FSX may reside in \Program Files. There are a few tutorials on the Web how to call the elevation prompt. Since I did not like the idea of asking for admin rights every time my users use my application, I looked for a way to determine if a file is write protected or the call is virtualized. The only way I found is to try to rename a file I know that is there. Renaming will always fail if the program does not have the correct rights. Even if the directory is virtualized by Windows. So if renaming a file (to the very same file name) does not work, I'll prompt for right elevation. Just keep in mind that it is not the fault of Windows if programs fail because of UAC. It is a good protection for the not so tech-savvy. Or at least it does not harm them
