I’ve got a bunch of nice freeware and payware sceneries that I fly to regularly and with doing that you get a degree of familiarity of what each airport looks like. With some more than others you get to know the layout very well and therefore can tell exactly where you are in the world just by what you can see out of the window. So today I was having a VFR flight and fancying a decent length one I picked an airport a good distance away which happened to be one of the above which I knew very well. I don’t do flight planning, just type my destination directly into the FCDU so after firing up my flight sim the FCDU calculated that I couldn’t quite make it and I’d need a fuel stop for about an extra teacup of gas. Giving up on that idea I chose a different airfield instead which was a bit closer and away we went. Takeoff, climb, cruise with a good tail wind and GPS autopilot set to follow my direct to flight plan and all was going rather well. Rather well that is up until the point when I was on final approach when a slight problem became apparent. I’d accidentally typed the original airfield into the GPS and was now nowhere near where my passengers actually thought they were going. Nice landing at this wrong airport, red X in to top right hand corner of the flight sim while I was still on the runway and lets pretend that one never happened shall we.

I've already had a similar experience when I typed my departure airport ICAO code as my destination airport in FS Captain. When I saw that the more I flew the further from my destination I was, I realized the extent of my mistake. Well FS captain has no recollection of this event
