Hi, Just downloaded the new SP. I'll do some tests this weekend. I'll use FS9 stock EBLG (Liege over here, mainly cargo airport), which I may have to edit with ADE to bring it up to date.
BTW Travis, sorry for not replying sooner. I haven't been that active on my PC lately (RL you know...). And when I tried to do something I had this 1(!) FPS issue, after updating to FSC183.
Going back to FSC182Full and the problem was gone. Finally solved it (I think...), I installed FSC183 again, 1 FPS was back until I opened the FCDU, then FPS went to normal and stayed there...
Anyway...
Regards, DDP.

Dirk, You're not the first to report this, and I have no earthly idea what it could be. From what I know, it only affects FS9 Captains. The 1 FPS starts when you appear in the cockpit, and stays until the FCDU gauge is open. Thereafter, it doesn't reappear. Could you do me a favor and try this. Start a flight and wait for a few minutes enjoying the slideshow - like 3 to 5 minutes. After that pause, make a note of your PC's time and then open an FCDU but don't click on it. Does the FPS change then or do you have to click on the FCDU to fix the FPS? Then send me the FCDU and FSCaptain log, along with notes of the PC time when you opened the FCDU. I'll try to determine what might have been happening and/or what might have changed.
(Btw, the pause I'm asking for is so I can find a definitive spot in the logs that mark when the FPS becomes normal.)
-------- Anyway, good luck with the TDZ testing and RL! Best,

Hi,
I've done some quick testing using the slew function. Airport and RWY detection, as well as TDZ distance display seems to work just fine, also for short runways where half the distance is used (even taking into account blast pads). I've also done a few actual flights, and the TDZ distance dispay on rollout looks good.
However, problems may arise with certain payware, which use nice aerial photo backgrounds, displaying nice runway markings. But the "underlying" AFCAD usually consists of a minimal runway and apron routes. If that AFCAD has no displaced threshold defined (Wonderful Madeira to name one...) the distance calculations will be wrong. Also, AFCAD displaced thresholds have to line up correctly with the aerial photo as well, which may mean more airport editing...
Is it possible to have an option to display the TD distance from the threshold instead of the end of the TDZ?
And about the 1 FPS problem, I've got some logs which I'll email with further info, unless there's a specific thread you'd like me to post this.
Regards, DDP.

Hi Dirk, Thanks very kindly for your report!! I'm very hopeful that the basics of this has been sussed out and we're just looking at rendering some nice trimmings....
Off the top of my hat, I'm thinking that a new Config file which specifies the Centerline Threshold Point as well as the Centerline Center Point along with a specified Runway Width (ft) and an optional Threshold Depth (ft) value might work for troublesome sceneries.
It would be something like the definitions for Designated Deice Facilities which ties specific locations to specific airports.
We can discuss this offline (in email) if you think it's worthwhile.
I can change the display values in Beta 2 to see if you like it. If so, I can leave it as-is, or if someone else prefers the current display values, then I could add an option.
Please send FCDU and FSCaptain logs... and please include FCDU and FSCaptain logs from a previous version which doesn't have the FPS drop. I'll look through them (as well as logs from other Captains) for something that might give me a clue as to what's happening.
No promises though; it's not happening here, so I'm highly clueless.
And I'll need a few days to check more into this. I picked up a "Farmer's Market" bug over the weekend, so I'm not running on full speed at the moment.
Best,

If so, I can leave it as-is, or if someone else prefers the current display values, then I could add an option. The value has been changed, and the option to use "TDZ Scoring" for the Nice Landing bonus has been added for the next build (Release Candidate). TDZ Scoring only applies on hard runways. It alters the "FPM window" to 0-500FPM which accommodates all possible other Nice Landing settings. I've tested an otherwise smooth touchdown just inches outside the runway edge and I was dinged with missing the TDZ as I anticipated. (I immediately appealed this gross injustice and got my penalty wiped. ) ----- I had a relapse of my allergy attack and was miserable for most of last week and weekend. Much better now. I hope to have RC out before this coming weekend. Best,
