81 .... Audio (modified) .... Add a "timeout" period so that when reset each individual warning would not be called out more than once per {1 | 2 | 5 | 10} minute period. Yes, sounds better -- except how about including {15 secs | 30 secs | 45 secs} in case I'm the PIC simply not paying attention rather than rollercoasting..? 82 .... Audio When the FCOM supplies a weather/runway advisory, add a moment's delay before the "Runways look a little..." suggestion from the FO..?

Season greetings all,
Now I may have missed this or I might be wrong or again there must be a reason why it is not included. I am referring to the temperature display in the stats section on the FDU. Is there a way for the temperature to be displayed in future updates?
Please do correct me if I am wrong about this.
Kind regards.

It would be easy to add that, and it's a good idea, but we don't have much room on that little page to fit more data.
Almost all aircraft have a gauge to read ambient temperature. But not all, I suppose, so it could be useful.

Yes for aircraft without this gauge that would be extremely useful. Furthermore this would tie in well with deicing procedures, leaving no excuses for Captains who forget to de ice.. Not that it happens alot.
This could be a feature and possibly an opportunity for the FO or and FA in future voice packs to first welcome to the arrival airport and then anounce temperature.
Thanks for quick reply Dutch,
Kendo

36 .... Fuel Major penalty (fine and drop a pay level?) if there isn't fuel for at least 45-mins flying (at average burn?) remaining at the end of a flight. I know it's an old post, but I didn't see anyone truly address it. The problem with such a penalty is that there is no real-world basis, at least in US operations. All the FAR's regarding fuel requirements specify that the reserve must exist prior to takeoff, not upon landing. It's there to avoid pilots taking off with full fuel and saying, "I have just enough to reach my destination with the current winds," despite the fact we all know the winds are rarely what the reports said. Realistically, the FAA will only be aware of such failure in a post-accident investigation or during a ramp check if they bother to ask for your planning information.

Wow, this is an old thread. I'll review it all for any nuggets of gold that might see their ways into FSCaptain 2.0.... Anyway, AFB is correct. I feel that we've taken care of the "appropriate fuel load" long ago when we implemented the Reserve / Holding / Alternate fuel requirements for departure. We want to dispatch flights with "appropriate fuel" but we realize that not all simulated flights go according to plan - you may have a third-party ATC which might put you into a holding pattern on arrival, or you may have to divert around a cluster of thunderstorm cells and lose 30 minutes to keep in clear air.... We can't know any better than you for the reason you parked with 1% fuel... so we can't ding you for that. So as long as you land with enough fuel to get you to your parking area... you did good. Best,
