Hi David, and sorry for the problem you're having.
Your logs look normal, so I'll need to play a game of "20 questions (more or less)" with you.
I assume that your FS9 crashes to desktop at some point after you try and run it. When does it crash - before any interaction or after you're in the cockpit... or at another time?
Can you send me (or post here) the crash information from your Windows Event Log? You should find crashes in the "Event Viewer - Application" section.
If it crashes late in your startup sequence, can you try using an aircraft that does not have an FSCaptain gauge installed?
If it crashes early in your startup sequence, can you disable our DLL and test running your FS9? Go into your \Modules\ folder and rename "FSCaptain.dll" to "FSCaptain.dll.TRAV" or something else.
Best,

Hi Travis,
My fs9 crashed when I tried to start, I mean doesn't work at all. When I erase(1.8.3) FS9 works without problem. I used 1.8.2 without any problem, but right now 1.8.2 was erased when I'd installed 1.8.3. Until now fs9 works, but without FSCaptain -( Thanks for your help!

Hi David,
The file "\FSCaptain\bin\FCDU.exe" cannot work with FS9, so I am curious as to why your crash report has a reference to it.
Could you please look in your \FSCaptain\Documentation\ folder and tell me the names of all files that begin with the string "README"?
Also, it appears that you have installed FS9 into the folder "\PROGRAM FILES (X86)\". This is the default location to install FS9/FSX/ETC but it can cause security problems for third-party apps.
But for now, I would like to focus on the reference of "FCDU.exe".
Best regards,

First of all, Happy new year Travis! In FSCaptain: I've MakeRwys README.pdf ; README.txt ; README_FCDU.txt and README-Weather_Hazard.txt But in FSCaptain/Documentation only README.txt and FCOM Reference.pdf
Strange why FSCaptain works well before, without problem... and right now not possible to start FS9 when FSCaptain was installed...
Thanks for your help!

Happy New Year to you David, and to yours as well! As to your last reply, I don't see the Readme file for the FS9 installation. And since you have an FCDU.exe file that doesn't belong with an FS9 installation, I'm wondering if you have a bad installation. Do you recall when you installed 1.8.3, did you use the FULL or the FIXPACK installer? I'll check what's been uploaded to look for any mistakes on my part. Otherwise, please send me an email, and in a few days I'll email you back with a link to a clean Refresh installation made just for you. It won't delete any files... so you would have to delete the \FSCaptain\bin\FCDU.exe file manually... but it would ensure you have the correct gauges and DLLs. Best,

I have your email, and I hope to be able to respond in a few days. We have some strong rain storms coming in off the Pacific, and my neighbors and I are helping each other with general clean ups and a tree felling or two. Best,

Hello David, All of my neighbors made it well through the storms - we did get as much rain in the two weeks starting December 26 as we normally get in an entire year, but we're on a hill so the excess rain simply ran downhill. Several of us helped to cut down a neighbor's tree that looked to be capable of falling on his home. (It is nice to be an "older guy" that can let younger guys do most of the difficult work.) I've been distracted by another issue, but I do have your email and I will get you an FS9 Refresh Installer before the end of this week. Best regards,

Sorry that I haven't gotten back to you on this before now, but I decided I should focus on getting 1.8.4 Alpha 1 ready so we're both on the same codebase.
I'm looking at two possible problems... 1) A faulty installer at some point which included non-FS9 files; 2) An OS-level issue with items that are built with Visual Studio 2019.
I'll send you an email later in my day with more details and a request or two.
Thanks!
