Does FSCAI currently (as of 12/20/2022) run independently of FSCaptain when installed. Im having a hell of a time trying to get it to run under P3D v4.5.14. I do have the latest VRS modules (v1.6.0.3) are installed too. Thanks in advance!

Yes it's standalone. Don't need FS Captain.

Is there a guide on this site to allow a non-default P3D v4.5 folder path installation of FSCAI? Thanks in advance!

Though not 100% sure, I don't think this is possible. And btw, FSCAI has nothing to do with VRS modules. It's stand alone.

Yes, I completely understand that they (FSCAI & VRS) are completely different entities. Was just wondering if they 'play nice' with each other in P3D v4.5?

I haven't found any major issue, apart one : If you fly a Tacpacked plane and use FSCAI weapons for user (e.g fire an FSCAI IR missile), you'll get a crash.
But if you have Tacpack I see no reason for someone to use FSCAI user weapons. FSCAI takes in account Tacpack though, meaning that Tacpack flares may make an FSCAI IR missile lose the target (user).
Have you installed FSCAI (that is a very easy procedure actually) and encounter some specific problems ?

Yes, I tried installing FSCAI, but to no avail, as my P3D is in a non-default folder (larger external drive) and FSCAI was not recognized by P3D v4.5.14. Should I try again, and what should I look for to make a successful install of FSCAI?

In your P3D folder, FSCAI will install a folder called "FSCAI", few simobjects and few Effects (very few mbts overall). But these must be in your P3D folder.
If you get this result with the installer in your main P3D folder, then locate the dll.xml file that resides (in my pc) at : C:\Users\User\AppData\Roaming\Lockheed Martin\Prepar3D v3
and open it with notepad and manually add this entry :
<Launch.Addon> <Name>FSCAID</Name> <Disabled>False</Disabled> <Path>FSCAI\bin\FSCAID.dll</Path> </Launch.Addon>
Hopefully this will make it work.
