Captains,
FSCaptain 1.8.3 Service Pack Release Candidate is ready for download and testing!
The biggest change is a new version of SceneryScanner. This version supports the MSFS BGL data, as well as adds support for future goodies for all FSCaptains.
There are \Config\ files which the new SceneryScanner requires, and we have distributed them throughout the Alpha / Beta / Release lifecycle of development.
There have been only a few minor bugs reported, so we feel confident that 1.8.3 Service Pack will go live within a few weeks.
If you are the type of Captain who normally eschews "Beta Software", we urge you to install and being using this Release Candidate. It's your last chance to find a problem with this build (and your simulator system) before we begin the Alpha testing for FSCaptain 1.8.4.
Here's the changelist since 1.8.3 SP Beta, so please read through it and test any of the changes which would apply to you.
As always, please perform a folder backup of your current \FSCaptain\ folder before installing. That ensures you have a fallback position should something in this build isnot to your liking.
Please report any issues here in the forum, or directly to us in email.

New Features
None. This is a bug fix and improvements release.
Changes
-- There is a new version of SceneryScanner. This version uses new configuration files which have shipped with 183 Service Pack Alpha and Beta builds. Details of these configuration files will appear in the Release Build of 183 Service Pack.
-- There is a dropdown selector on the Administrator's Profile and Settings dialog which you can use to change the "SUPPORTS" value in your profile.cfg file. (This defines which simulator your FSCaptain is supporting.) Only change this value if the displayed simulator is clearly incorrect!
-- The new option ENABLE_TDZ_NICE_LANDING can change how you qualify for a Nice Landing bonus. You may enable or disable this option on your Administrator's Profile and Settings dialog if you wish.
When enabled, if you land on a hard runway surface at less than 500fpm and in its TDZ, you can qualify. If you miss the TDZ or land on a hard non-runway surface, you can't qualify no matter your landing rate. If you land on a soft / water runway, your normal landing rates apply.
When disabled (it's disabled by default), your normal landing rate window is used to see if you qualify - as it always has.
-- When using a PLN file, if your second waypoint is a runway identifier with the prefix "RW" - such as "RW02" - then "02" will be used as your Selected Departure Runway.
-- When using a PLN file, if your next to the last waypoint is a runway identifier with the prefix "RW" - such as "RW28R" - then "28R" will be used as your Selected Destination Runway.
You can see both Selected Runways on your Flight Plan screen in the FCDU, but otherwise they have no current significance. ;-)
-- A new Aircraft Configuration variable - Seat_Belts_INOP has been added. If you cannot read or set your aircraft's seat belts sign, check this system as INOP in the Administrator.
-- If you create a new Aircraft Configuration file, the "Is Override" checkbox will be selected by default. Starting with 183 SP, Override Configuration files are the default Configuration file type used by FSCaptain.
-- When I'll Be Back is underway, the notation on the FCDU that states "Captain Away..." now includes the Groundspeed value that was in effect when the Captain left. Over the years, we've found that Groundspeed is the most variable flight factor that interrupts IBB, and this addition can assist in knowing when an interruption is nearly due.
Bugs
-- Runway Overruns were not being noted in the Administrators' "View Details" view of Flight Details. That's been corrected.
-- Your flight crew might try to toggle the No Smoking Sign even if it was declared as INOP. That will happen no more....
-- If an aircraft's exits aren't responsive and even if they're marked INOP, sometimes you would get stuck on the Load Progress screen looking at "Close Exit(s) to Proceed".
-- The Aircraft Configuration variable ParkingBrake_INOP was being ignored at the ReadyToUnload() stage.
-- The option DISABLE_250 was being ignored. Oops.
