Hello I just purchased the Parallel 42 Immersion package for the PMDG 737NGX for P3Dv4. It's done through Orbx. After installing the immersion package, FSCaptain did not work correctly. I got a message about the FCDU not being able to link to the flight data recorder in the aircraft (PMDG). It said to review istall instructions and reload the aircraft after that. I know it's the Immersion package because after I uninstalled it, FSCaptain worked properly. Any thoughts what's happening?
Thanks, MattC

Hello Matt,
I have no idea about that P42 package, but from your message I do have a suspicion....
You wrote that the FCDU couldn't link to the FDR. Are you using the FCDU gauge??
If so, then I would further guess that P42 somehow removed / replaced the FDR gauge from whichever VCockpit section you had previously installed it to.
If that's the case, then I would even further guess that once you re-installed P42, you could use the FCDU Installer to remove the FCDU gauge from the aircraft... and then to re-install the FCDU gauge once again... which would also re-install the FDR gauge to a VCockpit section.
I would need to see one of your PMDG's panel.cfg file with FSCaptain (working), and one of your PMDG's panel.cfg file with P42 installed afterwards to know.
Essentially, you would need to install P42 before the FSCaptain gauges. ----
On the other hand, if you're using the FCDU.EXE... I would have to think more closely....
Please let us know if we're close to the mark, or well off-base.
Best,

All good. I uninstalled the FCDU gauge from the PMDG aircraft. I made sure to install the P42 package first then the FCDU gauge second. Then everything worked again. Thank you so much for the help.

Cool beans, Matt.
If there's ever a future discombobulation such as this, I'd advise you do the same for both the FCDU's ACARS and FDR.
Best regards,
