Greetings,
Was trying to do a flight today in the HJG DC-10-40 which I created a custom load map for. After boarding was complete and I selected "proceed" I got the following message on the FCDU, "Not cleared for departure" RTF, -CG (-5%) below 0%. What does this mean? I suspect it has something to do with the loading of the aircraft? I've created load maps for several aircraft and have never seen this before.
Thanks. rpm.

Hi RPM, It sounds as if your load of that aircraft has resulted in a negative Center (Centre) of Gravity value, and I assume that you have the option DISABLE_CG=0. Some ( many??) sim aircraft have horrible C/G values when they are moderately loaded - even though they can be flown properly in the simulator. The very early days of FSCaptain would have simply stopped you in your tracks with a simple guard when you were ready to fly, but Dutch added the DISABLE_CG option to allow the ACARS to ignore the C/G value and let the Captain proceed. That's a global option, so if you want to maintain that guard you could click on the "RTF>" LSK to signify that you are Ready To Fly. If you want to keep that guard in place, and you feel that only this aircraft might suffer from a poorly-designed model, I can look to add a "Ignore C/G" on the Aircraft Configuration panel. Until then though, you can either (1) modify the station priorities of your load map to force more weight to either the front or the back of the aircraft, or (2) use the "RTF>" to bypass the guard and allow you to fly the aircraft as-is. Personally, I'd suggest you try the "RTF>" approach first and see how the aircraft feels. If it flies fine for you, then keep doing that. Let us know and we'll add an Aircraft option to ignore C/G. I fly with DISABLE_CG=1 and even with aircraft that report a C/G of -50 or so, I can fly them fine - using a lot of autopilot, etc. Best,
