just installed 1.8.2 for fsx/fs2004 and administrator window is too big (fsx and fs2004) to see bottom and can't resize or move (top already at top of screen). can't see approve, commit, ok etc. buttons - completely unusable. screen resolution is maxed out at 1366 x 768. help! no scrollbars or window sizing arrows at edges either. right clicking on title bar "size" menu item is disabled. luckily i had made a backup of 1.8.0 for both fsx and fs2004 so i just copied and pasted both and it even saved my "careers". i guess my 1366 x 768 resolution laptop is outdated just like my still using fsx/fs2004. (decreasing resolution only cuts off more of the bottom of the administrator interface.

Hi Ikedaman,
welcome to the FSCaptain forum. I will alert Dutch and Travis to your problem.
Best regards, Peter

Hi Ikedaman,
We're sorry for the problem. If you could post or email a screenshot showing us the new Flight Dispatch tab on your screen, we can better get a grip on what things look like for you.
If we can come up with workarounds in the next weeks, I'll make them part of a Service Pack that I'd like to have available before the end of our new season. (Summer in the North, Winter in the South.)
There are other improvements in the Admin.exe that 1.8.1 lack, so if we can get you using 1.8.2, so much the better. I would strongly caution against mixing 1.8.0 and 1.8.2 components. If you feel the need to do so, please make a backup of your 1.8.2 options.cfg file, as the 1.8.0 Admin may overwrite that file... without newer options being retained!
We know that our "OK" button can be triggered with the Enter key, and our "Cancel" button can be triggered by the Close Dialog icon. Yes, both of those will close the Administrator, so we know this isn't an optimal workaround.
Clicking on a scroll-able window allows the cursor keys (and mouse wheels) to scroll the window's contents.
Currently, there are no workarounds if the "View Release --- Commit --- Reject" buttons are not visible. But I can account for those in a Service Pack.
Best,

thanks for your reply but i have gone back to 1.8.0 or 1.8.01 for fsx and fs2004 respectively. i can see the whole administrator interface. my laptop max resolution is 1366 x 768 which i guess is old nowadays. in lieu of a screenshot everything below the select plan and get weather buttons is un-seeable and unreachable in any manner as i have tried everything i was referring to above. i will look for the service pack on your website but in the meantime i am perfectly happy with 1.8.0
best regards, ike

I realize my post is 2 years old but i couldn't help notice that simmarket lists a vertical resolution of 960 pixels minimum.

Hi Ikedaman, I added that to the SimMarket description about a year ago when we were going to a super-tall Administrator, but that's now changed yet again with the in-Beta Service Pack for 1.8.3. Now the Administrator is roughly... 1276 x 761 pixels.... If you're still running an older FSCaptain and would like to try the current build, make a backup of your \Aircraft \Airlines \Data and \Config folders. (Or just backup your entire \FSCaptain\ folder.) Then run the 1.8.3 Full Installer (which has the super tall Admin!). Finally install Service Pack Beta 1 and you should have an Administrator that closely fits your laptop screen. Migrate your backup files as needed.... The biggest drawback I have now is trying to make screenshots for the User Guide. (!) I've even thought about using "90 degree clockwise rotation" screenshots, but I really don't like that....
Best,

Thanks for the reply. I had installed 1.8.3 and had the same problem as before so i went back to 1.8.1. I did not not know there was a service pack beta 1. Thanks again - i have gsx/2 so i wanted to use 1.8.2/3.

Will do! Just made a short flight from ft yukon to deadhorse after installing 1.8.3 and service pack. Love the widescreen administrator. Things i noticed - i had put shortcuts to the fsx/ fs9 admin and installers on my desktop. For some reason they were all renamed to installer shortcuts (1) (2) for both fsx and fs9. Other than that fcdu is much more aware/integrated with gsx and manifest and aircraft payloads actually agree. Also all the ice weight has disappeared - never understood that. Overall i like fcdu much better. That's it for now. In closing thanks for not abandoning us fsx/fs9 users like everyone else pretty much has although i know at some point you must move on.

That's great news, and thanks for the kind words!
I haven't run FS9 in many years, but we keep a few FS9 Captains on our Testers list to ensure compatibility.
SimConnect (32 & 64) Captains will be supported well on too. We're growing into MSFS, and will expand over time, but will never forget from where we came from.
Best,

hello it's me again - hate to keep kicking a dead horse but............ widescreen Administator is great but......... see screenshots....... looks like briefing window has same problem - there must be buttons on the bottom somewhere which i cannot see because when i try to close it with task manager (only way i can close it) the print dialogue comes up (must be default highlighted button) otherwise cannot close it and it is persistent (on top of flight simulator no matter if i click on flight simulator)

Fixed for the next Refresh Release so that the OK button is the permanent default button.
There should be a Refresh Release likely the weekend of the 23rd.
