Greetings; I installed FSCAI into my FSX and for about 20 minutes it was glorious. I took the F18 up, spawned an enemy aircraft via the F menu, and observed it shooting me down and attacking FSX@War ground units. However after restarting FSX to try some different scenarios it fails. On launching FSX I get the attached warning from the application, if I allow FSCAI to run FSX crashes. If I don't FSX will launch, and executing the FSCAI program doesn't get me far. It tries to connect and eventually gives a link error, also attached. What is also interesting to me is it looks like it is doing something as the log file shows FSCAI assigning units and registering me thwacking a couple of CCP-placed AAA pieces with mavericks despite saying "no" to FSX on running FSCAI during launch and the FSCAI program saying it can't connect. I have tried un-installing FSCAI and re-installing it to no avail. What am I doing wrong? I have FSX with acceleration, TacPack and the F18 Superbug, FSX@War, CCP, and ORBX scenery, and Active Sky. Windows 10. Thank you!

If you can find your dll.xml file and post that, it would help a lot. (It's in [Your username]\AppData\Roaming\Microsoft\FSX on Windows 10.) It looks like perhaps something has gone wrong with it.
Or, it's also possible that FSCAID.dll is missing from the FSCAI\Bin folder, but I doubt this.
Thanks! Dutch

Sure thing - please find the dll.xml attached. Note that I manually edited it with Disabled = True last night so I could continue to run FSX without exploding for the moment. I do see the FSCAID.dll located at C:\Program Files (x86)\Microsoft Games\Microsoft Flight Simulator X\FSCAI\bin. <Launch.Addon> <Name>FSCAID</Name> <Disabled>True</Disabled> <ManualLoad>False</ManualLoad> <Path>FSCAI\bin\FSCAID.dll</Path> Thank you for a fast reply on a Saturday afternoon, much appreciated. that looks normal, but I see you're running FSX in the Program Files folder - is this Windows 10?
Since you are running FSX from within Program Files, be sure that you installed FSCAI running the Installer "as Administrator" and that you run the FSCAI program itself "As Administrator".
If you didn't install it as Administrator I removing and re-installing it that way.
Microsoft puts special restrictions on programs in 'Program Files' that can cause weird things to happen.

Ahoy;
I had installed and been running as admin, but no joy on that fixing the issue via that route.
But I can report success. I decided to take the nuclear option, uninstall and reinstall FSX with all my add-ons into a different folder and things appear to be working. FSCAU is now connecting, I did a test flight with some CCP-generated vehicles and they appeared in the active window and the log says they even targeting me after I manually switched teams.
I attempted to generate an airborne opponent, but it says 'Your aircraft model (ATC_MODEL=F18E) is not in the Vehicle Database'? I think I saw a post about that somewhere on these forums.
In any case, Glory and Trumpets! Assuming I can get my Superbug recognized I am looking forward to seeing this thing in action. Thank you Dutch for your assistance, and for creating this (I am assuming this is your labor of love).

Concerning your F18E-problem:
Check if your "Vehicle-folder" has an entry "F18E". Propably just copy the entry for the "F18" and change all aircraft-designations to "F18E", so that you have two entries: One for the F18, one for the F18E.

You will notice that the Superbug makes a poor sparing partner; I think it's too complex or has too much of a custom FDE, but FSCAI doesn't know what to do with it. Usually it just crashes. Occasionally it turns and runs without ever engaging.
If you install the Southeast Asia content, I've found that the included MiG17 makes a good adversary. Piglet's F-5 has been good too. But you've gotta load up as the adversary aircraft you want to fly against, spawn your opponent ahead, then pause and switch to Superbug. I'm really hoping for an ability to choose the type of aircraft in the "spawn opponent" menu eventually!

You don't need to do that ! You can edit the wing.cfg file in "Config_USER" folder, defining what your opponent will be, by declaring there the simobject aircraft Title of the opponent you want.
