I noticed something "funny". As some know, there is the option to drop a string of bombs. Usually, when dropped, you will get a nice string of string of explosions on the ground when you release them. But only if you release at relatively low level and low speed (I talk about something like 6000ft AGL and 300KIAS).
If you drop from higher altitudes and faster speed, you will see that the bombs start to "flutter" and instead of a nice string of explosions you´ll get some sort of random ground explosions.
Is that intentional?

Scattered (dropped from FL170 with ~540KIAS):
Lined-up (dropped from 1500ft AGL with 300KIAS):

It's not intentional ... gravity bombs are simply simobjects dropped with no engine and no velocity and the sim itself guides them down to the ground. If that doesn't work right then we have a problem. Perhaps the configuration of the bombs' definition needed to be tweaked, I'm not sure. 12,000 feet is the highest I've dropped bombs from in testing and they seemed to land reasonably on target. More experimentation should be done on this.

I don´t see it as a problem, since I tend to release my bombs below 6000ft AGL. But you are right, for level bombing this is something worth looking into.

One would expect a wider cluster as altitude and/or GS increase. Isn't that what happened here?
Notice the scale is 3 times larger (0.3 NM vs. 1 NM) on the first cluster.
That is why, in RL, low and slow has tighter groupings, but generally lower surviveablity with all things being equal.

You are right concerning the scale, but the bombs also wandered off to the left and the right, which is strange in my eyes.

I just tested with my (IRIS) A-10 and had the feeling that the unguided rockets were spot on with the Gun/Rockets reciple, while the Bombs were good on the MK-84 CCIP.
