Since firefighting planes are essentially water bombers, I'm trying to have
a go with this concept. Native FSX CL-215 AIs exist (AI Advaark) with
HAF repaints included. What I'm currently trying to achieve, is an invisible "bomb"
with a water drop effect attached, to FSCAI "arm" the AIs with it. AIs in photos
below, already use this "water bomb" but effect doesn't show up. I'll try with MCX
to see what can be done...
Fire targets simobjects with attached fire effect, declared to opposing team named [FIRE] ,
was the easy part. My tests :
FSCAI AI wingmen are taxiing for take off. I'm the last plane at center of screen.
I'll turn to take off ahead of them though...
Close view of a CL-215 AI in Hellenic colours.
After issuing the order to "engage ground targets"...
AI "engaging" fire & another incoming AI above it, at the cloud
AI dropped water load & rejoining
2 out of 3 fire places (targets) are disabled...
Second AI took out the third fire target, while third AI has just dropped his load also...
Now. This is an FSX Mission that I used to place the fire objects & attach fire effects on them
of FSCAI (invisible targets of the Aircraft type).
I guess an FSX@War theater can be built with various fire targets for firefighting fans. Advantage
is that a. targets can be randomized in quantity & place that show up (at the same area), as also
b. you can have such "fire platform" targets in different countries at the same time, engaging user to
fly where he's interested to.
On another note. These AIs come in two versions. The other one is for landing on water (no wheels).
So I believe, I can have AIs reloading water from the sea for airdrops in a raw (with mission scripting that
is - substitution of AIs actually).

On another subject, right now in FSX many interesting and of various kinds
releases & projects are running. Nowak has released a bunch of carriers !...
Cattaneo has fixed gun & AIM-9B sounds at his TA-4J, adding OA-4 also,
Shupe has released his HMS Victory - excellent for climbing up the ropes
with EZCA camera & firing CS weapons cannons with her; I'm thinking of a
way to use FSCAI to make combat capable hostile AI sailboats to her so that "real"
naval battles can be achieved, but FSCAI can shoot 360 degrees while "Victory" only
sideways mainly or restricted angles anyway, so AI boats will have an advantage on her.
There is also this interest about WWII North Africa. The major issue for me is the plain,
uniform & thus boring sand landscape to fly over... But I tested a free available photoscenery
of whole N. Africa - Sahara and things improve dramatically. It's a 16m/pixel photoscenery,
suitable for flying above 15.000 feet. But even at ground level, I prefer this over what FSX offers :
Near Benghazi, view to North, NorthEast
View to East
Tobruk, view to west
Tobruk, view to west

Finally, one week before our scheduled a year ago trip to New York, TA-4J was released for FSX.
Aboard carrier "Intrepid" at NYC with the logo "Tolken's gulf yachting club" & at hangar 1 under
an A-4 Skyhawk... How cool & how of a coincidence is this...
At deck with a super Tomcat (D). I believed Tomcat was bigger... but then, even F-4 looked smaller...
