Ok, pulled out the trusty and rusty old C47 and accepted a mission. OK, I should have checked the documentation of the airfield before I got here...: But someone is eagerly waiting for me: Nearly there! I had spawned a wingman, and it seems this was his attempt of landing here...: (To be fair, I was only able to break before the ende of the whole thing by cheating with the "slew"-button.) HAJO

@hajo : The "Southeast Asia" Era you use, is not in default FSCAI. I guess you've added this. Simobject AAAs recognize the Team they belong to by closest airport to them. So, it seems that closest airport to these specific Flak - AAAs is not assigned to "communists" in your Team configuration file. On another note, for proper AI assignment to teams, you have to activate FSCAI when you're on the ground and not airborne. If these don't help, then you sould probably run "Makerunways.exe" to update your fsx airports list (if closest to AAAs objects airport is correctly declared to NVA Team, that is). Regarding the missions offered, with the exception of A-1, it's normal. Next time you'll fly the same plane, you'll probably be offered a different type of mission to fly. 20 miles south of Lima site 04, a photoreal airstrip... With some scenery vegetation added & without leveling the ground, is ready for some bush flying... Laos landscape is so extraordinary... Due to this ground morphology, photoscenery patches blend with default FSX quite alright... How much "cinematic" Vietnam is this ?...

Thank you for your reply!
As for installed scenery: I have the FSX@War-scenery installed and the scenery from Project Vietnam. (http://vietnamwar.project.free.fr/) Need to check if that has caused this small interference.
FSCAI-activation: Of course I always activate it before I take off.
As for missions: Could you test if you are offered any PC-6-missions? And if yes, where? Because, as I understood the whole Mission System (never played with that before), the list of missions for the PC-6 only showed me one (1!) Mission available, and that would be at L20A. And after I started up my PC-6 there, it was a Recon-mission - not a small airdrop or similar as I would have expected.

@hajoI checked, with PC-6 @ L20A. Gave me 2 missions (available to fly) & by checking the mission list, there were 2-3 more "not available this day"... When you select a mission and then decline it, with "Shft+J" again (twice hit), offers you the next available mission for current Plane type(not specific plane)/Airport/Day.... About the "Axis", you're right. I don't understand why. @dutchThis FSCAI missions is a so great feature for Free Flight !... I went for a recon of a downed pilot. Before I reach there : Best adventurous bush flying ever, with FSCAI Air America !... Dutch check your PMs.

If you get the message "Not Available This Day" it means that the mission is coded with less than 100% availability and it was randomly de-selected for presentation.
This is to keep the same missions from appearing day after day - for instance SAR missions are fairly rare in their appearance.
If you restart FSCAI it re-casts the dice and a different set will appear.
Alternatively, for testing, it's pretty easy to open the L20A.asl file and search for the mission you want to test and change the "Priority=" to 100. then it will always appear.

Yes, I use Notepad++ but regular old Notepad works just fine.

Concerning "Teams_Vietnam.cfg": Will this work? [Allies]Airfield=VT** Airfield=VL**Airfield=L20A [...] Airfield=VVYS Vehicle=BLUE_JEEP Vehicle=BLUE_TRUCK Vehicle=BLUE_TANK Vehicle=BLUE_APC Vehicle=BLUE_ARTY [Communist]Airfield=VVCI Airfield=VVDB [...] Airfield=VVVP Airfield=VLNN Airfield=VLVVVehicle=RED_JEEP Vehicle=RED_TRUCK

Because those two added "communist airfields" are part of my scenery - I´m not sure where they come from, I think it´s FSX@War. VLNN is the Nam Nqum Railway bridge, and VLVV is Vang Vieng. At least they have been used for my CCP-Vietnam mission package.

Yes, VL** is the pattern template for airports in Laos, so there's the conflict - which adding the two explicit airfields to the communists should handle, but doesn't because of the way sides are chosen right now. It searches for the first match of anything, it should make two passes - the first for exact matches the second for patterns.

So these two new "airfields" will be still considered "Blue" then? (Sorry, non-native speaker, I tend to repeat questions if I´m not sure I got it right the first time... ) HAJO

Yes, but you can always make your own Team configuration file, assigning individual airports to teams just like you want for having the result you wish for... FSCAI is highly customizable by editing with notepad the various configuration files (and/or making your own now that "Config_User" folder has been added).

I've made a Photoscenery for my Laos - Air America flying with FSCAI, "centered" around Long Tieng (LS20A). It's about 600mb (a bit less), with a 2m/pixel resolution. Following video presents a half an hour flight from L20A to Planes de Jars and back, demonstrating the most of it. If you like flying over photoscenery (no Autogen included), links for download are at videos description on youtube :

Photosceneries are nice, but especially when I´m flying low, I don´t want to miss trees and other 3D-obejcts - those are usually gone with photoreal scenery. I just tried a SAR-mission with the PC-6. The first thing I had to notice where some rogue T-28: This guy was shooting at his own aircraft! (Ok, the T-28 was "none" at teams for some reason). He got some good hits: I should find that unlucky C-46 some time later... These guys on the ground were friendly: But some others were taken care of by the T-28s - pretty impressive to see them working CAS! Bomb away! Or did they hit the friendly guys...?? Not sure... Fog of war... This is VLXK: Looks strange in several ways, I think there is some scenery hick-up. And a lot of fires... That "hovering" C-46 seems to be burning.. That´s most likely the unlucky guy that god fragged by his own T-28! I leave this sad place... Speaking of beeing sad: Of course I did not find the missing T-28 that I was supposed to SAR. I even landed exactly 28nm away from 116.10 at the 040 bearing and rolled around a bit, but nothing that looked like someone requesting a ride home... HAJO
