My FS flight life style is get up the sky and wandering around with other things... most of the time I take a 2-4h flight at evening after return form work and do something else while cruising, or even go a 10+ hour flight while working or sleeping... I would still like the failure system to make some issue like flap/gear problem or decompression while climbing.... But if it happens at CRZ, that will disturb my schedule a lot.... I just fly for entertainment... Not a fan to have a virtual passenger dying at 500knots and have to take half a hour to deal with it while I'm enjoying a moive...
So I would like to have an option to inhibit any failures generated by FSC in between TOC and TOD, thanks

In 1.8.2 I've renamed an existing option ("TAXIOUT_FAILURES_ALLOWED") and given it four siblings (FAILURES_ALLOWED_CLIMBOUT, FAILURES_ALLOWED_DESCENT, FAILURES_ALLOWED_ENROUTE, and FAILURES_ALLOWED_TAXIIN) so any Captain can disable 'random failures' during any of the five flight phases.
Other failures - notably ones that result from a Captain's inattention - could still occur.
Until then, you could try using I'll Be Back once you start cruise, so if you walk away from your flight and something untoward occurs (overspeed, severe turbulence, etc.) we would pause your simulator until you can resolve the issue.
Best,
