FSCaptain New Ideas
I was wondering whether the developers of FSC might consider adding to the types of flying a MEDIVAC option. Perhaps something along the lines the following, as an example
Home Base Airport = A regional or county airport with basic Nav facilities, such as one would find in the real world.
If one chooses a Medivac flight then, much like the current Flight Despatch faciclity does at present, the pilot is presented with a list of potential flights, dependent on the airacraft to be flown eg a Beech King Air B200.
Each potential flight comes with or is a given a points ranking with the more complex or difficult options being given a higher score. The score will only be fully earned on full completion of the entire mission ie from Home Base to Collection to succesful delivery of the patient AND return to the originating home field with the aircraft in the same condition as when it took off to start the mission.
Other factors which might be automatically generated by FSC could include time of day, distance to cover, effeciency in flight management, solo or co-pilot involved and nurse (similar to a Flight Attendant) as well as other factors which would be of relevance to a medical emergency? Should the patient 'die' during flight the points score may be halved or something along those lines.
Weather conditions would remain within the ambit of current weather engines such as AS16 and others.

Hello Pumpkinza,
welcome to the FSCaptain forum. This may not be exactly what you have in mind, but FSCaptain includes a mission feature that could be used to accomplish something similar. You should have a document "Assignments.pdf" in your FSCaptain/Documentation/ folder. Have a look at this and let us know if this suits your needs.
Cheers, Peter

Hi Peter
Thanks for the reply.
I look forward to trying this out as it seems to meet most if not all the objectives I had in mind. Obviously there is much to learn and try but one thing I would very much like you help with is to set up a proper load map for Flight1 King Air B200 so that it can be used as an air ambulance. I have struggled with load maps for the KingAirB200 but cant say that I fully understand all the details. Thus far I have been able to use the B200 based more on luck than understanding.
Is there any information which I can research for you or provide so as to set the load map up correctly? From what I gather the air ambulance service requires double size cabin doors, provision for stretcher and advanced life support equipment as well as doctor and nurse. From a crew perspective it appears that the minimum requirements are Pilot, Doctor + Nurse and Patient. Optionally a First Officer would be a bonus. as the flying the King Air in and out of small fields will be a handful to say the least.
On the other hand you are probably exceptionally busy so I would be prepared to try to work out a load map but chances are I will land up with a mess.
Look forward to hearing from you and thanks once again for the response

Hi Pumpkinza,
I am going to be away starting from Thursday, but if you quickly send us (see blue link below) the aircraft.cfg file of the B200 I will see if I can do something. Please send the email to all of us and copy the address of this thread into your message so that everyone on the FSCaptain team can chime in if necessary.
Cheers, Peter

I went looking for assignments.pdf and didn't see it in any version installer I have. When was it introduced?

Hi John,
maybe that was only available to testers. Travis and Dutch will take over since I will be off-line for a while starting from in 2 hours.
Best, Peter

Hi John,
The Assignments file is nearly a year old, but it was made public with 1.8.0 last December.
There may not be a shortcut to this document with 1.8.0 - have you checked your FSCaptain\Documents folder??
If it's not there, we'll upload a copy and post links.
Best,

I tried reinstalling and still not populating anywhere in the folder structure.
