This post has been edited to indicate that we have (since long ago) the data we needed.
Hello P3D4 Captains,
For some of you, FSCaptain 1.8.0 can find all of your aircraft in both the Administrator and the FCDU Installer.
However there are quite a number of you that report FSCaptain can't see all of your P3D4 aircraft.
When we examine log files from those who are having these problems, we find that the Windows Registry Key which we expect to point us to your P3D4 install is not being found.
We're working on other ways to determine where your P3D4 is... and it's critical that we do so we can offer a new version of FSCaptain that can be installed outside of P3D4... but I would like to ask for your consideration to help us mine for data.
Now we're seeking P3D4 Captains who feel comfortable in using the Windows utility RegEdit - the Windows Registry Editor.
If you are not comfortable with RegEdit, then I would ask you to stop reading now and to not run it - this should only be done by those whom are familiar with RegEdit.
Regedit is a program that can be used to change Windows system settings. If used in a wrong way, such changes could cause chaos and even break your Windows operating system and force you reinstall everything. The procedure we describe below will not make any changes, it just extracts information. However, if you are concerned that you may accidentally change system settings, then simply do not participate.
Again, we don't want you to change anything, but rather all we want is for you to run RegEdit and go to this key location:
HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Lockheed Martin
If you don't have this location in your registry... then we'd like to know that too!
However if you do have this location, then I would like to ask you to right-click on the "Lockheed Martin" entry and then click 'Export' and save the data within and email it to us along with your latest ADMIN log file. Please do not post it in the forum - we will remove any such attachments that we find.
That would give us a look at what data is on your machine and which should give us a better understanding of the differences that we're running into.
Again, if you're not certain about working with the Registry, then please don't! Your PC's safety is of more concern to us....
Best regards,
