Hi Mike,
Happy flying in your XPlane!! Dutch likes it and we've bandied about how we would approach tackling it. Don't hold your breath, because if/when we commit to it, it's likely to be months before we had something that would be useful.
You're still on the Alpha Test team, so you'd be one of the first to try what we come up with!!
My biggest area of concern is how many of the underlying systems which MSFS exposes would be available to us. For example, is structural and engine deicing handled by a common set of controllers, or is it ignored by the sim and left to each a/c developer to roll their own? -----
I am fumbling around with my new P3D4 - some things work (woo hoo - the Trike can fly!) and some things don't (my default 737_800 flies, but the Nav / COM panel is driven by a 32-bit DLL, so boo!) and I'm still working on one major holdup (ISG gauges... even the new x64 build... crash the sim before any loading can apply).
I can give a minor shout out to REX and ORBX and VirtuaCol for the ability to re-use my previous purchases in P3D4. (I know there are more companies that have taken this track, and I'll get to them eventually.)
Recently I had taken a fancy for the JustFlight 757 "Freemium" which doesn't appear to be transportable to 64-bit. Que Sera Sera
My next item to tackle should be AI traffic. I don't think MyTraffic 5.4 would work well, so I'll take my time and look for something else. If my beloved AI Monitor/Controller won't work - my bets are that it won't - then I could use a SimConnect AI package. Otherwise, I'll stick with a BGL-based package.
Best,

Hi Travis
FWIW, I was using Traffic Global. I got it way back when as an early release. It had a few hiccups but the devs seem to be on top of it. They have frequent updates. It works rather well and isn't a framerate hog. No idea if it will work with P3Dv4 as I was using v3. But it's worth a look for your traffic needs.

Another vote for FScaptain or Xcaptain or whatever you wanna call it, could be potatoes... i moved almost 1 year now from P3D to X-Plane, and one of the apps that i miss most is FScaptain. We need this, huge market out there on the thousands of growing X-Plane users.

I also moved from FSX/P3D to X-Plane 11, I also have been working with aircraft that have there own FMC in P3Dv4.5 and have not figured out how to use FSCaptain and the a/c FMC at the same time. which is why I have been quiet on the FSCaptain forum for a while. I would be willing to test anything you come up with for X-Plane 11. Travis I got the Captian Sim 757 when they had the $25 sale over Christmas and love it, also got the Quality Wings 757 while not as detailed as the CS757 the QW757 is a good aircraft to get also.

We have to stick with the current code base through the end of the year, so fingers crossed that we can start work on a brand-new edition in 2020. The grand architecture has been decided upon, so it will be down to sorting out the details for each simulator-system.
Ideally it would support FS9 through P3D4, as well as XPlane.
We'd know more about any unreleased simulators when details start to emerge....

If you like, bring this into a new thread and we'll try to see what's happening. While the FCDU looks like an FMC - and can be aware of PLN data - it's totally different.
When I used to fly daily, I'd use my FCDU with my ISG-enhanced jetliners. I have them all installed in FSX (the original CS757, to be certain), but I have a soft spot for "freebies" that FSCaptain can support.
Best,

Is FSCaptain for X-Plane 11 still on the table?

Hello Skmcconnell,
since this thread was created, MSFS came in as a new player. It has the advantage that, internally, it has many similarities to FSX. Hence, the efforts have shifted to making FSCaptain available for MSFS, and there is some good progress in that direction. As a side effect, X-Plane is not high up on the list of priorities right now.

I often imagine that in a previous life, Peter must have been one helluva diplomat. As for adapting FSCaptain, it's more of a matter of time. As Peter noted, MSFS burst onto the scene with a lot of behind-the-scenes similarities to previous MS flight sims. Even with all of the differences, I believe we can have a highly-functional FSCaptain working with MSFS 2020 by the end of this year. Trying to adapt to XPlane would take much longer. I don't even have XPlane running on my PC. Regards,

I also have started to make some XP flight, mainly with FF350 and FJS727 which I couldn't find on P4D. Now I split my time between P4D and XP11, FSC is something I'm missing when flying XP

It's been a very long time since I used FS Captain, having made the jump to X-Plane 11 100% a few years ago, but I still miss FS Captain! Picked up MSFS not long ago and, while it looks pretty, it'll be awhile before it's fully baked. I do enjoy flying the ever-evolving A320NX on there, but it's not been enough to pull me away from my Toliss and Flight Factor 'Buses on XP11. Keeping an eye out for a MSFS FS Captain...maybe by the time it comes out, some good jets will be rolling off the line for MSFS. An X-Plane version would be great too (perhaps by X-Plane 12, lol).

Hi Scott, I have some Real World things to attend to on my upcoming (West Coast heat-waved) weekend, but if you've installed FSCaptain 1.8.3 Beta 1 for P3D4/5 drop me an email and I'll get back to you in a day or four with some MSFS goodness. Best,
