Captains,
Code work on FSCaptain 1.8.0 Beta 1 is complete, and we're now finishing up the documentation changes and building the installers. But that's taking longer than normal... We're moving to a distribution system where there will be FSCaptain installers for three different simulators:
- FS9
- SimConnect 32-bit
- SimConnect 64-bit
So this has increased our work - rather than building a single Full Installer and a Fixpack Installer, we're now building five Installers (three Full Installers and two Fixpack Installers).
This has slowed the final phase of release (which usually is to make things, perform final sanity checks, go have a coffee and a lie-down, then check things again... all before uploading).
We're very confident we'll have Installers ready within 24 hours. At that time, this "News Item" will be deleted.
We may need another 12-24 hours, as a totally different issue has arisen. However we are aiming to release the "SC64" version (for Prepar3D Version 4) first... as it's the build that's most sought after.
Regards,

While we may have a release on Thursday the 27th, it could be that a release may occur on Friday the 28th. I did have to make a code change upon receiving a note from Peter. ( Blame me , not him! )

A few bug fixes over the past day or so have finally stabilized. Testers have been given links to the Beta 1 installers and I am frightfully hopeful (barring a showstopper bug being discovered) of a public release within 8 hours.
That is all....
