Captains,
RC3 of FSCaptain 1.7.0 is ready for download. It makes it easier to build tail-number specific aircraft configuration and load map files, as well as offering some bug fixes and tweaks to the manifest & payload generators and minor enhancements to the Dispatch Release.
- There were FS9 weather holds on every flight - FS9 reports zero visibility with the AVAR that we use for FSX/P3D.
- No zealous fuel crew trying to overload your a/c.
- Better payloads & fuel loads overall.
- No "everywhere is the same distance" when trying to start a new flight.
- Parking nonsense that I'd like to forget about.
- Some Dispatch love for water pilots - you'll get warnings for both gale force winds as well as "glassy water" conditions.
- A few odds and ends that I've forgot about already.
You may download the 22.2MB Fixpack which will upgrade recent installations
fscaptain.net/downloads/FSCaptain_Fixpack_170_RC3.zip
Or you may download the 165MB Full Version which includes all files, audios, etc.
fscaptain.net/downloads/FSCaptain_170_RC3.zip
While installing the Full Version over an existing FSCaptain won't overwrite your logs, it will overwrite any existing aircraft and airline files.
New to this release are backup folders inside the FSCaptain folder which hold copies of the gauges and modules (dlls) which are installed to your simulator.
Also new is a one-page Aircraft Interface Matrix which lists the different aircraft and the systems that are supported either directly from Aircraft signals, or via an Interface.
As always, please ensure you have a current backup of FSCaptain before installing. (That's my paranoid voice speaking.)
The User Guide and README have been updated - the README listing all new items and changes.
As for "flight testing" as I always caution, make a short flight first. I think most of you know by now that my testbed flight is KMER-KMOD. It's less than 30 NM distance, and can handle all but the most jumbo of aircraft, and all you need to do is fly the runway heading (cause KMER 31 is usually in use) until you capture the 28R ILS.
