Okay, so I decided to remove my posts in my older thread about the VA based on a DC-3. Unfortunately that VA failed me because I could not generate enough interest, and I wish I could remove the topic so I'm not cluttering up the forum.
Perhaps an admin can delete my old thread so I can start this one ... You guys have my apologies for messing up the forum, lol.
This was my first post in my old thread. I should've started a new topic then, but I digress...
I have plans for a new Virtual Airline built around a fictional airline called Red Bird Airlines using FS Captain as the airline's PIREP reporting system. The airline will use the Captain Sim 737-200 and will have a passenger and a freight division.
However, due to my lack of internet and webpage building, I would be using a very rudimentary system and likely a ProBoards forum for the PIREP reporting. Sadly, this would mean that every flight posted would likely be a print screen on the "show details" in the flight log. However, I have my own livery (a remodified version of a Captain Sim 737-200 repaint of a National Airways paintjob) for both the cargo (Red Bird Air Cargo) and passenger (Red Bird Airlines) divisions.
Like FS Passengers, I'm hoping for a system that could potentially include injuries and even fatalities for the pilots. This would allow them to create a character (almost like a plane themed D&D game, lol) so if something happens and their captain does die they can start a new character, and maybe even have a system in place for keeping some of their hours from their previous pilot, and the like. I can develop such a system, I believe, but again, it would be sort of rudimentary.
I also intend to have a financial system in place for the actual airline itself. As in we start with a finite budget and only a few planes. As the weekly cargo contracts are completed and the weekly passenger routes are flown, they generate revenue that will help the airline to expand to new hubs and allow us to purchase more planes and the like.
What do you guys think?
Would anyone be interested? I'm afraid that asking that a potential member have not only FS Captain but also the Captain Sim 737-200 in order to join may severely reduce anyone's desire to join, especially if they see a simple forum instead of a sleek and professional (and expensive) website. However, I belive I can make a proboards forum that is very professional and in order.
(Update)
Here's just some promotional stuff to show my airline's liveries and hopefully generate more interest as I start the work on the website.
Hopefully this isn't considered Spamming, but I just want to keep updating the thread with some things about the Progress of the VA.
Here's one of Red Bird Airline's Cargo Division two 737-200 F's loading up at the home base of KPDX. The other was receiving maintenance in the hangar.
And finally one of Red Bird Airline's four (three owned one leased) Passenger 737-200's on an overhead Fly-By.
Like I said in my previous posts I basically modified a National Airways repaint to be my own as I really liked the color scheme. I also added the focus blurs in my editor to make it seem like these were shot with a camera.
I know things don't happen overnight, and maybe it's just not enough of a professional set up for this project to work, but I'd love to hear your guys' opinions! ;D
