Sorry for dropping the ball on this, Captains.
I've had to provide relative support during the past few weeks (yes, that's my light way of saying I've been supporting family) and normal ACME support should resume during the coming week.

Hi Pete,
we have not received a response from your VA, but we had some ideas how this problem could be handled from the FSCaptain side. We would need a phpVms server for that, and when I was working on that I got stopped by major FSX problems. Once I have resolved my own problems I will get back to this.
Best, Peter

What Peter said....
We've scheduled this for a post-1.6.3 release - Peter's had experience running VA software, and I'll need to get up to speed before I'd be of much use.
We're knocking out known bugs (alas, I see a new one...) and I'm hopeful to have a final 1.6.3 ready by mid-July. After then, this and Contracts will be the next big things to work on.

Pete, I'm sorry to say that we've been unable to get a phpVms server running. The VAs that we've contacted have not been keen to provide sample data, so we need to generate the data ourselves - which will be done very slowly....

Hi Pete,
I would be happy to work with your new CEO on resolving this issue. However, being a VA member myself, I would think it would be best if you contact him first and describe your problem to him. If that already happened let me know and I will contact him as well.
Cheers, Peter

Hi Guys,
I am the chief technical officer over at buffalo airways virtual. I received an email from Pete C some time back and also responded to a forum post on our VA's forum regarding this issue. According to the information available on this forum and the fscaptain site FSCaptain works by using an existing VA's FSpassenger configuration. "Support for reporting your flights automatically over the internet to your Virtual Airline using the already established FSPassengers reporting format." Which we are setup for today, so I am not sure if the issue is on our end or the end users end, I suspect the pre-existing fspassengers config would need to be edited slightly to support FSCaptain via the FSpassengers interface? Unfortunately it seems we dont have any other members who use FSCaptain as no one has chimed in on our forum post other than myself and our former CEO. I'd like to know more about how this interface works, if its just a matter of us putting out a FSCaptain config file similar to the fspassengers config we have today then this would be easy to integrate. Anyway, I look forward to a reply as I'd like to understand better how this works. Also for the support staff here, Pete C's error is as follows (as posted on our forum) - "The PIREP exports ok but I get the following error message Flight 3417 was NOT exported; the reply was:[#Answer# xxxx;'not found]"
Thanks, Patrick M CTO - Buffalo Airways Virtual

Hi Patrick,
thanks for visiting this thread. I was able to fix phpvms for another VA a while ago, so I believe we have a good chance of resolving this issue. The format of export data in FSCaptain is indeed identical to that of FSPassengers. However, phpvms uses a slightly different airport database: ICAO codes are the same of course, but the names are different; for instance, "Toronto" instead of "Toronto Pearson International" or similar.
The standard phpvms script to receive FSPassengers data tests both ICAO code and name, which succeeds for FSPassengers but fails for FSCaptain. The fix was fairly simple: I created a copy of the FSPassengers script that would be used for FSCaptain, and in which only the ICAO code is tested. I can give you more information via PM or email (see below), but let's wait with this until November, I am currently very busy in my RL job.
Cheers, Peter

... and here I thought I was going to sleep tonight. Patrick, if you don't mind, let's take this to e-mail. Unlike Peter, I don't have a job.
