Do you have a copy of FSUIPC? This has an option to extend the default battery life. In real life and in most addon 737s (not the default alas) it's all done with the APU running so the battery doesn't die.

I thought the default FSX 737-800's APU kept the power going... without using any fuel if you can imagine that. But it's been a while and I may be mis-remembering....

Hello. I can't run "Weather Options" on page "Options for All Airlines". The program falls down every time when I try to push the botton "Weather option". All other options and features works pretty good. I have Windows 8.1 (64x). FSX Gold edition + acceleration installed to different place. (Even different drive). All programs runs under administrator permission. I tried solve this problrem by set different type of compatibility, however I didn't have any positive result. How can I setup wheather option? Maybe I can edit some .cfg file? But which one? PS. Now I found the topic about my question fscaptain.proboards.com/thread/1612/ctd-weather-optionslink

Hi, I am evaluating FSCaptain before I buy and getting an error when I select "Use Administrator" under Add-ons in P3D v2.2. Error reads "Did not find configuration files. Have you installed FSCaptain yet?" I uninstalled and reinstalled it twice with the same result every time. My computer software is as follows: Windows 7 Pro 64Bit, Prepar3D v2.2, P3D Migration Tool v2.0.0.441, FSUIPC v4.931, WidevieW v3.40, Widetraffic v1.40, GSX, RAAS Pro v1.2.1.36, FS Global X 2008, FTX Global and FTX Global Vector, REX Essentials + w/Overdrive, many Scenery addons.

I am nor sure about the configuration with P3D, but I believe you need to have a very recent version, or maybe even a specific version, of FSUIPC. There should be something in the user guide about this.
You can also launch the administrator directly from the bin subdirectory of FSCaptain. Maybe try that first.
Cheers, Peter

I have the latest version of FSUIPC which is P3D v2.2 compatible. Also the latest version of FSCaptain v1.5. I have run Administrator from FSCaptain folder but even that does not save what was selected in Airline Definitions or Aircraft Characteristics tabs.

That sounds like a problem with file permissions. Try running the program as (Windows-) admin. If you have installed P3D in the default C:Program Files folders then you may have to disable UAC (User Access Control). If you installed P3D only recently I in C:Program Files I would actually advise to reinstall it in C:P3D or the like because many FSX/P3D addons have problems with access right in the default localtion under Win 7 and 8. There is a lot on this on the internet, just google FSX UAC or FSX file permissions.

Peter, I do have full admin rights to all files and folders, and P3D is installed on different drive then windows (F:\Prepar3D). Any other suggestions.

I just see that you are using the P3D migration tool. Maybe disable that and reinstall FSCaptain. I have read that it creates problems with programs that work directly with P3D. (Or use it to install FSCaptain, I can't remember for sure if it supports P3D, but I believe it does).

Pete, I had migration tool disabled when I installed FSCaptain because User Guide stated it was designed to work with P3D. That is what migration tool manual states to do with P3D aware addons.

Hmm, that's a tricky one. There are log files in the Data/Logs subdirectory of FSCaptain. Maybe run the administrator again and have a look at your latest ADMIN_... log file. You can also send it to me via PM if you want.

Peter, I see there is a problem in the Admin Log and I sent you a PM. FSCaptain.DLL has the path to the Config folder incorrect somehow. Any suggestions how to correct this.

Hi Andy,
the last two lines in your log file refer to a directory "PREPAR3DFSCaptain" instead of "PREPAR3D\FSCaptain". I would guess this is simply a typo that happened sometime during installation. You could either fix this by hand (search for PREPAR3DFSCaptain in you FSCaptain directory) or reinstall FSCaptain.
Cheers, Peter

Pete, There is no problem with the P3D directory structure. Something is going wrong with FSCaptain.dll in module folder, somehow its dropping the "\" between the Prepar3D and FSCaptain folder names. It has no problem finding the Prepar3D\SimObjects\Airplanes or PREPAR3D\FSCaptain\Aircraft folder. Also if I run FSCaptain Admin.exe it finds the configuration files with no error. I tried copying the FSCaptain.dll file from bin folder to the module folder and it didn't change anything. I searched the windows registry for "PREPAR3DFSCaptain" and none was found. I reinstalled FSCaptain around 5 times now.
Thanks, AndyK1812
