Still problem. Started FSX and had my first flight with no problems. Second flight FSX broke down, not with memory failures but only for FSX would shut down and reboot. It was approx. 15 minutes before landing. I put all my graphics down to medium. Before I could run FSX at 1920x1200 with high graphics.

So I recently installed fsCaptain and am having difficulty with the Fcom at the beginning of a flight. When I start a flight and try to work with the fcom it says "configuration error 00" There is no specific message under this as it shows in the readme. However at this time I am still recieving the above mentioned message followed by "permission in configuration folder, consult documentation & correct this/these problems. like I said though, no listed problems.
Thank you for any help

I have a couple of questions for you first before I can start to figure things out.
Which version of Windows?
What is the full path to the FSCaptain folder, starting with the drive letter?

Your problem is a Windows 7 security permission issue... Windows Vista and Seven place special security restrictions on anything inside the Program Files folder to try and prevent unauthorized modifications to programs.
However this messes badly with any programs that keep their data files where the program also lives. The design of FSCaptain (and almost all other add-ons due to the design of FS itself) is such that FSCaptain is placed in the same folder as the FS9.EXE or FSX.EXE program.
You can possibly get around this by being sure that FS9 (or FSX) is being run as administrator.
But the best solution, not just for FSCaptain but for Flight Simulator itself, is to install it outside the Program Files folder. You are risking lots of security related issues (which often come disguised as program bugs) if you keep it installed in Program Files.
I use C:\FS9 for FS2004 and C:\FSX for FSX. All security related issues vanish when you do this. You don't even have to run as Administrator.

Tried several times but it still dead..so I can´t unlock the software this way......can you do something? I have Win 7 on a 64bit machine and the demo worked perfectly on the first flight which was quite interesting, am printing the huge manual right now to really understand how to use it at the out most.....

The first and most obvious question. Using Windows Explorer, look inside your Gauges folder within FSX (or FS9) and verify that FCOM.gau and FCOM9.gau are installed there.
Which version of Windows and FS are you running?
If other than XP, are you running as Administrator?
Please type the full path of your FSCaptain folder also.

Yes the 2 files are installed in the folder gauges of my FS. I use FSX (sorry for not telling you that) and Windos Vista, as Admin. The path of the FSCaptain folder is C:\Program Files\Microsoft Games\Microsoft Flight Simulator X\FSCaptain
Thanks...

Hi Guys, I installed the demo into FSX root (drive G, fsx has an SSd all to itself) installed FCOM, everything appears fine except I cannot get the gauge to appear in my NGX (it's the only plane I fly) I tried copying the config:- gauge03=FCOM!FDR,1,1,1,1 gauge04=FCOMPNL!InterfacePM737,1,1,1,1 into my panel.cfg under [Vcockpit01] as suggested by Clive (Alpha117) But no joy, I would love to get this going, please help. Forgot to mention I am using FS2Crew, ProATC and OpusIgnore above, I'm an idiot
