Please post any of your questions, problems, and enhancement requests here. Before you ask a question, did you consult the FAQ here: www.fscaptain.net/faq.php? When submitting bug reports, please be as specific as possible. Every detail can help track down a problem. Also, be sure you have the latest Fixpack installed before you report an issue. The latest Fixpack is always available on the website at www.fscaptain.net. Enhancement requests are welcome, and all are carefully considered. Some may find their way into FSCaptain sooner, some later, and maybe some not at all but I welcome all ideas and suggestions. Thank you, and enjoy FSCaptain!

Congrats on getting the program offically launched. I have d/l and installed the new version. When star FSX and move the aircaft to KSEA .am getting error responses..Initialiation failed.. followed by Set primary buffer failed ..and then Creation failed.. check if sound file available.. Then FSX shuts down with Fatal error// removed FS Captain and ran FSX again..it starts up and I can load aicraft at KSEA without any error...any idea why this might be occuring..I was able to run FSCapation up to the beta 7.12 quite recently.. That sounds bad, and no I have no idea what is happening. Release 1.00.00 is almost exactly the beta 00.07.12 with only a few bug fixes and one enhancement, and that was deliberate to try and minimize the chance of something odd happening like you are experiencing.
Which Windows version are you running?
Try this: rename your FSCaptain folder something different, like FSCaptain_save. Then install 1.00.00 clean so that nothing is left over from your older installation. Try bringing FSX up and see if it will work. If it won't tell me. If it will, then go into your old FSCaptain folder and look into the Data folder -- that's where your flight records are. Copy and paste everything in the Data folder from the old FSCaptain to the new one, replacing anything if it asks. Go into the Config folder and drag all that stuff over to the new one. Now see if it still works.
Hope this helps, Dutch

Could you email me the panel.cfg for the 737-800 you are flying to dutch@fscaptain.net, and please verify that the FSCaptain\bin\FScaptain.dll is 1,084KB dated 12/2/2009 3:44 PM; and that gauges\FCOM.gau is 783KB dated 12/2/2009 8:42PM.
That should go a long ways to figuring out what's blocking you...at least it will eliminate some major things.

If there is no FCOM.gau file in your FSX gauges folder that sure explains why your FCOM is a big black hole...it sounds like the installer is somehow corrupt or not doing its job, which is odd. No error messages during the install?
I sent you back a slightly corrected panle.cfg but I don't think that would cause this problem...but try it and see.
It really sounds like something is going awry with the installation process.

I have downloaded the free version of fscaptain. I'm pretty impressed with this program and would love to buy it. But now I've spent the last 2 FSX, but when I install fscaptain and use this program, FSX crashes down after about 30-40 minutes. I have now tried to reinstall FSX and have no other add ons. My version of FSX is the Gold Edition with the Acceleration expansion pack. I'm using Vista 32 bit home edi. My graphics card is NVIDIA GeForce 8600 GT. I have 3 GB of RAM. I ran with a lot of different add ons without problems before. I also tried to put the graphics to very low, but it crashes with the error message "Your computer ran out of memory, FSX restart ... etc" Can you help me or must I forget to buy FSCAPTAIN?
Thanks in advance Stjernlund

Hello Stjernlund, We'll try and figure out your problem. Certainly 3GB is enough memory, I use FSX with 2GB (On XP) and don't run out. FSCaptain is not a memory hog -- it will grab a certain amount when it starts but that doesn't grow much later. I doubt it uses any more than a megabyte which is 1/3000th of the memory you have. Random crashes 30-40 minutes into a flight can be very difficult to figure out. Are you at any particular point in your flight when it crashes, such as after you received your clearance message? Are you running the older 1.1.6 version, or have you tried the new beta of 1.2.0? It is available here: www.fscaptain.net/downloads/Fixpack_10200_Beta6.zipYou could try it to see if it resolves any problem(s). Best, Dutch

Hello Dutch,
Thanks for your quick reply. I have purchased a license today. But it did not help. I have the last 2 years running FSX in a Windows window. But try as to run FSX in full screen. It helped for a while, but now it breaks down every time I landed in the airport and started to taxi. It's pretty frustrating because I thought it seems like a super program. I would just try installing fixpack_10200. Although I can not see there is no change regarding. graphic.
You'll hear more

I am currently investigating a CTD a great deal like the one you are reporting that happens on my machine. Odds are good we'll find an fix it soon.
The situation where it crashes when you land and start to taxi sounds a great deal like something wrong when it starts to check for gate re-assignment.
Are you using the "Require a parking Area for Unload?" feature. And, did you rebuild your airport database?

Hello Dutch,
After having bought the program was my first flight in fullscreen 1440x900 in daylight from EKCH to EGNX. It went well. My next flight was the night flight of resolution 1680x1050 fullsreen. It broke down 3 times in a row after landing. It starts with the values in my 3d cockpit freezer and then comes the error and restart FSX. I would like to o back and fly FSX in windows mode 190x1200 in which I could before. I'm not so much inside FScaptain yet, but I've rebuild airport and has not Require an FS parking location to unload. Should I try it? Stjernlund
