Thanks! These are the files we were looking for, but there's nothing present to tell us, "Hey, go look over there for some other aircraft."
We're not giving up, but we need time to study on this issue. We hope to finally have Beta 2 out this weekend and that's taking 95% of our FSCaptain focus.
Regards,

I posted my same question in a new thread yesterday, sorry I should have looked here first. Not sure why this is the one area that stumps users but clearly this is an Achilles Heel of FSCaptain. It must really be hard to automate/simplify more, else you folks would have already done it!

Hi,
I just purchased your product a couple of days ago and I am having issues with it as well. Any Aircraft I bought as a DLC from Steam are not on the Dispatch List

BTW I found the error. I need Administrator too look for airplanes on the DLC folder of FSX steam edition for it to appear on the dispatch list. How can I do this? I checked every config file but cannot find anything.

Hello Greg,
welcome to the forum. I never bought a plane for FSX: Steam, but I had the impression that it works fine for most users. I think we need more information to resolve this. Can you send us (see blue link below) a zip file with your FSCaptain\Data\Log folder? Please send the email to all of us and copy the address of this thread into your message so that everyone on the FSCaptain team knows what the logs are for.
Cheers, Peter

Greg,
Currently, we do not support the Steam or P3D system of 'airplanes' installed outside of the simulator root folder.
We also didn't support the P3D system of 'airports' installed outside of the simulator root folder until the recent other utility gave everyone the data that's needed.
Give us time to work on the "non-out-of-the-box" changes and FSCaptain will remain fully compatible with other add-ons....

Hello, I am trying to get the aerosoft A318 (or any of the aerosoft airbus's to work). None are in my dispatch drop down. In the airplane config how to pdf page 2, under Getting the plane to show up in FScaptain dispatch. I have loaded the plane and opened the FCDU and get nothing that shows anything similar to that picture. I have also tried the FCDU install to, so I can have it installed in the A/C to see if that makes a difference . The aerosoft airbus is not in that list either. Looking at page 1 here Dutch shows a few options in the aircraft.cfg file to change. Here is the first piece [FLTSIM.0] title = Aerosoft A318 professional BRITISH AIRWAYS G-EUNA sim = A318 model = BA_GEUNA panel = sound = texture = BA_GEUNA kb_checklists = AirbusA321_check kb_reference = AirbusA321_ref atc_id = G-EUNA atc_airline = Speed Bird atc_flight_number = 1000 ui_manufacturer = Airbus ui_type = A318-112 CFM ui_variation = British Airways ui_typerole = Commercial Airliner ui_createdby = Aerosoft atc_parking_types = GATE,RAMP atc_parking_codes = BAW description = Aerosoft A318 professional CFM / British Airways G-EUNA / www.aerosoft.comAlso under the General area I have this [GENERAL] atc_type = AIRBUS atc_model = A318CFM editable = 0 performance = "Cruise Speed\n0.78 Mach 530 mph 828 km\/h\n\nMaximum Range\n2,454 nm 4,352 km\n\nService Ceiling\n41,000 ft 12,497 m\n\nFuel Capacity\n55,115 lb 25,000 kg\n\nEmpty Weight\n82,448 lb 37,398 kg\n\nMaximum Gross Weight\n169,754 lb 77,000 kg\n\nLength\n123 ft 37.57 m\n\nWingspan\n111 ft, 10 in 34.09 m\n\nHeight\n38 ft, 7 in 11.76 m\n\nSeating (typical configuration)\n150" Category=airplane I am not sure if it's because the airbus does not install the aircraft into the main simobjects folder or not. In the administer program, in aircraft characteristics I can find a A318CFM.cfg. If I click new airplane and yes on the "Would you like to base the new airplane on an existing one?" Also if I go to fscaptain/aircraft/overrides there is aerosoft airbus's in there. I have tried creating one of both files and they do not show in the dispatch drop down. Any thing I might have missed? Thanks mike

Hi Mkiker85,
well, the Aerosoft buses work fine on my system, so we have to figure out what is different on your system. First of all, we need to know which simulator you are using. Since it appears to be the new buses, you are probably under P3D v4. If so,
- Have you updated FSCaptain to the latest 1.8.1 release candidate? I would expect issues with 1.8.0 and earlier versions. - If you are using the latest 1.8.1 built, you can do the following: start the Administrator, go to flight dispatch. When you select an airplane, select "Unlisted type". Are the buses there?
Cheers, Peter

Hello Peter, I am using p3dv4.4, i will look at the version of fscaptain after work tonight.
I do know that when I go into administration and flight dispatch, unlisted type a few 737's and a captain sim 757 shows up, but know Airbus. I might be on 1.8.0 still.

Peter you were right on me running 1.8.0. I just installed 1.8.1 and restarted the computer. When I do unlisted type I do not have any airbus's. These are the only things showing up
The following 6 aircraft types were not included in the Dispatch list for the reasons indicated:
C210: ATC_ID not defined, or blank B752: Duplicate Model ID B752: Duplicate Model ID B752: Duplicate Model ID B738: Duplicate Model ID B739: Duplicate Model ID
With 1.8.1 under the dispatch aircraft it did add A321 Airbus A321 not sure if that works for the aerosoft 321 or not. My p3d is not installed on my C drive it is installed on another dedicated drive just for p3d, Fscaptain folder with everything is in the p3d main folder.
D:\P3DV4\Prepar3D.exe D:\P3DV4\FSCaptain\bin\Admin.exe
Not sure if that makes a difference or not.

Hi Mkiker85,
good that you upgraded to 1.8.1. Version 1.8.0 did not yet support the P3Dv4 addon structure and assumed all aircraft are located in P3D\Simobjects\Airplanes], that's why it did not find the Aerosoft buses. As for the airplanes that show up as unlisted: if you do not use them, you can ignore this. If you want to use any of the unlisted planes, you would have to edit the aircraft.cfg file of the respective plane. You can send it to us if you need help.
If the buses don't show up, I suggest to start P3D and the FCDU and load one of the buses. See if the Administrator recognizes the planes after that. Sometimes one has to use a plane before FSCaptain becomes aware of it.
Best, Peter

Hello Mkiker85,
Installing any of our simulators outside of Drive C is always a good idea! Wherever you've installed makes no difference to us - FSCaptain currently has to live "inside the simulator's root folder".
If you're still not finding the joy that you expect, email us a few of your latest ADMIN logs and we'll have a look as to what the Administrator is seeing.
Best,

The A/C that are unlisted I'm not worried about right now. The airbus's still do not show up. I currently have a a318 loaded in the sim, picked it from the main menu and clicked fly now. Once it was loaded I opened the FCDU, on the main page where you click login or offline. It shows S/W Rev. 01.08.01 prepar3d AEROS/AirbusX, I assume it's recognizing the plane. If I click login under preflight menu it shows A318CFM G-EUNA. It's still a no show in the dispatch list including under unlisted type. On a side note do you have to use FCDU installer or can you skip that and open the FCDU from the desktop? I was under the impression you could just run the fscaptainFCDU. Either way I have ran the FCDU installer and get this error "The installer log writer reports an error. Continue yes or quit no" I say yes and get a installer_random number.log. If I go under data logs I see plenty of log files and two that start with installer_random number.log. However the numbers do not match what the error shows. I click ok and the installer opens, I scroll down to Airbus A318-112 CFM in {Aerosoft A318 CFM Professional} -- {FCDU Installed} Not sure if that could be the problem. Also on a quick side note Under admin/dispatch I have B738 PMDG 737-800NGX, does that one work with the Winglet PMDG 738? Thanks for all of the help. It shows that for both the A318-112 and -111
Peter I found the FCDU installer error file in bin folder. I just emailed you that along with a rar (zip) file of the data logs folder.

Hello Mkiker85, If you're using the FCDU.EXE then you do not need to install the FCDU gauges. In fact, you should not install a gauge if you only want to use the EXE. If you do install a gauge, it will sit there and take up its small RAM footprint even if you never use it! Regardless, you can safely ignore the FCDU Installer "errors". Here's a recent thread that came up about this issue.I await your log files before I comment any further. Best,
