I think that there's some confusion as to what information needs to be entered into the Aircraft Configuration sheet. I see several posts showing texture definitions from aircraft.cfg files, and this is where the problem lies. You need to look further down in the aircraft.cfg file and find the section marked [general]. Under that heading you'll see atc_model. The entry in the FSC Aircraft Configuration Type field needs to match the atc_model. You must also use the atc_model info to name the file (top block of FSC Aircraft Configuration). For example, for the Airbus Extended A320-214, the atc_model in the aircraft.cfg says A320CFM. This is what must be entered as the file name at the top of the FSC Aircraft Configuration tab AND in the Type field. This will allow your aircraft to show up in the drop-down list on the Flight Dispatch tab.

OK... I added some liveries to my PMDG 737-800 NGX and now it's gone from the list.
I see it in the 'overrides' in the FScaptain menu. And when I clicked on 'unlisted aircraft' it says that there is a duplicate model.
What gives? How do I fix that?

Alright... that was quick.
I have decided that if I ever get in a problem I can't figure out with this program... uninstall, reinstall fixes it quickly.

Hi, i'm also having a problem with a missing aircraft. The ACARS installer found it, and i installed the FCOM. After starting it up in P3d V2.3, FCOM wrote that the aircraft wasn't in the database and created a configuration file. But i can't get that thing to appear in the Flight Dispatch list. The supposed reason is the following: "DA40: ATC_ID not defined or blank in aircraft.cfg". But there are ATC_ID's in the aircraft.cfg. I'm attaching the aircraft.cfg and the generated FSCaptain .cfg. Hopefully, someone can help me with that Aircraft.cfg (30.76 KB) DA 40.cfg (588 B)

Astarot,
In your aircraft.cfg, I see that the atc model is defined as this:
atc_model=DA 40
Until the past few weeks, FSCaptain had not encountered an aircraft with an "atc_model" that included a space in its value. The first was the Razbam Fairchild Metroliner III... the second is your Lionheart DA 40.
FSCaptain 1.5.1 will allow for this, but until then I would like to ask you to experiment by changing this bolded value in your aircraft.cfg from...
[General] atc_type=Diamond atc_model=DA 40
...to...
[General] atc_type=Diamond atc_model=DA40
... removing the space in the value.
You would also need to change the "DA 40" in the filename and the "Type" of your "DA 40.cfg" file as well. (Or the ACARS would simply generate a DA40.cfg for you....)
If your aircraft is usable - or not - with this change, please let us know. It should be usable when we release our next version, but perhaps with this edit you may be able to use it now.

Hi Filipe,
I have that plane and it works fine on my system. If the Dash 6 doesn't appear on you administrator, you can send me your Aerosoft aircraft.cfg file and your FSCaptain DHC6.cfg (or similar) file as well as the admin log file by PM.
Best,

Hi Filipe,
I received your files and they look good to me. A small remark: in your aircraft.cfg file it says atc_model=DHC6 , so the corresponding FSCaptain aircraft file should be DHC6.cfg, not DHC-6.cfg. I have both types of files, but should not affect your problem at all. I verified that I get flights assigned to my Twotter both in the Administrator and in the FCDU, so we have to dig deeper where your problem is. Could you do the following?
1) Start the Administrator, go to Flight Dispatch and try to get a flight with the Twotter. If it is not offered close the Administrator and send me your log file (location: see blue text below)
2) Are you using the economic model?
3) Do you have similar problems with other planes?
Cheers, Peter

Hi Peter , you "killed" the question! " A small remark: in your aircraft.cfg file it says atc_model=DHC6 , so the corresponding FSCaptain aircraft file should be DHC6.cfg, not DHC-6.cfg" . I changed DHC-6 to DHC6 and its worked!!!!!!!! This DHC6.cfg in aircraft folder ( not overrides folder ) is to Aerosoft?
Thanks so much Peter , i will make a test flight!
Best...

Hi Filipe,
great to hear that it works for you. The file name "DHC6.cfg" that FSCaptain expects is tied to the value of atc_model in the aircraft.cfg file. Occasionally we run into issues with this, for instance when developers have several lines in their aircraft.cfg file with different values for atc_model. Let me know if you have further questions.
Cheers, Peter

Great Peter , thanks for help! Unfortunately... i have! I sent a message about a "wrong airport" message in FCOM after the changes in CFG name.
