I'm experiencing a minor problem when I use the "normal load" function- I happened to abort the loading to get on with my flight, and directly went to the "reconcile load" screen. However, the boarding and gate sound never stopped playing- it continued for the rest of my flight, although all of the other sounds (music, FA wavs) switched into their appropriate modes.
I use my own gate1.wav file that is significantly larger than the default one provided, as it is downloaded from a youtube video in an airport. If I let the "normal load" complete itself, the sound will however stop when it should- it's only when I switch to a different "mode" manually.
Any Ideas?

I wish.... I've noticed this as well, that some of the "looping" sounds will continue to play even though we issue a StopSound() command. I'm throwing all the tricks I can muster at this, to little avail. It's on my Top Ten list of annoying things to tackle.

Aw ok. I feel better though knowing that I'm not the only that's experienced this-

Through some highly serendipitous browsing yesterday, I stumbled across a lone post - made in 2008 for crying out loud - which posited that the original documentation was in error. Literally by deleting a single character in two types, FSCaptain compiles and all looping sounds stop on command. (And it's not just the boarding / gate sounds - the pushback tug and the de-icing sprays also "persist." So thanks for your post - while I've been on a mini-mission to fix this, your post initiated the current sequence of events. With luck, the beta for 1.6.3 will start next week (we had a new bug pop up in the past few days) and you can hear for yourself.

In testing over the past few days I've noticed that the non-stop looping has returned. Literally nothing's changed in the code for that area, so I'm really really annoyed at something. If I could figure out what. I may go back to my Bag O'Tricks in a couple of days....
