Hi, I just bought Fscapitan, and I'm in the process of learning of how to use it properly. The problem I've got is with weather and performance calculations. I use REX 2 Overdrive as my weather engine (I've got the newest updated version). I also use onlineflightplanner or SimBrief to plan my routes. I choose the flight in Fscapitan, load the plan I created in mention above websites and initially it shows me certain data as for ETE and fuel requirements which are close to the ones I get from SimBrief. Then I try to load the weather and here where the problems start. I says that the metar data is thousands of hours old and asks if I still want to use it. If I click yes it doesn't give me any weather details and after recalculating the numbers drop to completely unrealistic (by the way I choose q400 as my plane). If I choose not to use it the Fscapitan usually freezes and crashes. If I choose not to load the weather and the program doesn't crash, when I look at the release it again shows unrealistic data. I checked in the Rex's folder and it says that the metar xml file is with the current date I'm getting a bit lost here as I don't want to commit to a flight with unrealistic calculations. Please advise how I can solve it.

Hi Michal,
thanks for your interest in FSCaptain. I am using ASN instead of REX, but I had the "old weather file" problem as well when I didn't start ASN before using the FSCaptain Administrator. Do you run REX while using it? If this doesn't help just wait for a few hours, Dutch or Travis can probably give you more support on REX.
Cheers, Peter

Hi Michal,
I'm not certain about "REX 2" that sounds like a very old version and I would need to see the format of the data.
Could you ZIP and email us - do not post here - a copy of the REX METAR XML file along with your \FSCaptain\Config\profile.cfg file?

Jon,
I updated the parser for the REX weather file. What's your problem? If you have a file that can't be parsed, ZIP and email it to us, and describe what you're seeing.
Regards,
