Hi all,
To be honest, I have just a limited amount of time to perform a flight. So standing "hours" in the gate in preparation is not possible. I Always fly the Aerosoft busses. They suit my needs (great co-pilot) What lacks however is a failure engine. Once the auto pilot is on, I can go to sleep until it is time for descend. So here's my question: can I just activate the failures/problems that fscaptain can generate and in a first stage, not bother with loading, unloading, earning money etc? Best regards,

Earning money and having a career happens without you having to worry much about it so you can safely ignore it. The loading process takes minutes not hours and can be speeded up to take seconds if you want. Or you can skip it altogether by disabling auto-load in your Airbii and not simulating the load. You can also disable the FO and Flight Attendants. If you ignore your score and never look at your career you will still have some minimal interaction with Dispatch and that's about it. So yes.
There's also an Offline mode for the FCDU that's even more minimal. However, I'm not sure if failures will happen in Offline mode. I'll have to check that out. I believe they are but I won't say that until I'm sure. If so that's probably the solution you are looking for.

Jos,
We thank you for your confidence & your custom, but we do have a fully function trial mode that you can install and fly to your heart's content... as long as you only fly from KSEA, KOLM & KPDX. I think the first and last airport there can handle the Airbus.
I encourage you to install the download and run in trial mode from those airports. Tweak & configure and adjust things until you know that FSCaptain will give you what you're looking for. If we're off the mark somewhere, let us know and we'll see if we can change things to make your experience better.
Btw, which Airbus co-pilot do you like??
Regards,

Fscaptain gets a lot of very positive comments in different forums. So I purchased without hesitation. Easier to do the tweaking on my own routes and airports. The airosoft airbus comes with a build in co-pilot, thats the one I'm referring to.
Best regards,
Jos

Thank you kindly Jos. Is there a particular Aerosoft Airbus pilot/copilot that you prefer? ( Yes, this is a leading question. )

Hm ... don't know if I understand what you mean? There is just one co-pilot simulated and a number of voices. I use the Uk pilot and co-pilot voice.

Hi Jos,
That's what I was curious about - the UK voices are very nice!
I think the Aerosoft US Captain is quite rubbish, but I am the only person on the planet who gets to say that without me making a counter-remark.
I cannot say anything bad about the Aerosoft US Pilot-Not-Flying for what should be a very obvious reason....

Haha, now I get it. :-) My choice for the british voices is because I do all of my flying in Europe and under the flag of British Airways. I'll break that habit and invite an american pilot to join the cockpit for a change! Let's see how he performs! :-)

I have hoped for years to add British and other accents and languages to the voice recording options of FSCaptain. Many have promised but few have delivered. We even include voice charts in the documentation folder to help out, and I or the other members of the team are happy to assist.
Anyone who wants to become an FSCaptain FO or FA, or talk a friend into being one, is welcome! You can also be a tug driver or Iceman too - much less to record.
It's not hard to do at all. You don't need a studio or fancy software. The 'sound recorder' app in the Accessories menu of Windows will do fine. Simply follow the voice chart instructions and produce recording under the names on the chart and send them to us. It does take some time, a couple of hours total for either FO or FA role, and you have to be able to listen to your own voice, which can be disconcerting at times
I feel acutely how silly it is to have American voices, however good they are, flying for non-American airlines in other parts of the world.
We rely on the FSCaptain community to step up and help fix this!
The 'Voicepacks' section of the File Sharing area is empty except for Trav, and he's already the default. This does not have to be.
