Damage Assessment -20 For no reason? Ive gotten this a few times. On a few different planes.
Perfect landings, no problems with take off. No turbulence. Not carrying fragile cargo or anything.
Whats with this? Any way to shut this off? Because obviously I am not damaging anything. I actually flew the plane hard on a landing on purpose and got penalized for that to see if I would incur damage. But when I land perfectly I still get it?? Whats the story here? It kind of makes it pointless to use the software if I keep getting this.
I am using Prepar3d. The last flight was with the default LearJet 45 from FSX ported to P3D.
Maybe its the planes?!

Seriously... I feel for you, fellow Captain!!! Just a few days ago I made a special (Priority, Live, Fragile) flight in my trusty default Caravan, which was as smooth as butter all along the way. I kissed the runway as I landed, and I awaited my sure-to-be-110-points when I saw this: I had to run my logs through the debugger to see that I had strayed a few minutes too long above 12000ft and had thus killed my cargo of laboratory rats. I do have it on my personal agenda to add an explanation to the logs. If it doesn't make it for 1.5.1 Beta 5, it will be in the next release.

Travis, what if we fly 777 Freighter and we have live cargo on board? 777F climbs much higher then 12000 ft...

Is the program set to automatically give damage if the FPM landing is above a certain amount? Wouldnt that be adjusted per plane?
As I said, i was flying PAX flights didnt have any specified cargo on board. Whatever was loaded wasnt mentioned specifically.

Is the program set to automatically give damage if the FPM landing is above a certain amount? Wouldnt that be adjusted per plane? Correct on the former. There actually are several levels of damage, and for each the threshold is different depending on what you're carrying - normal cargo, special cargo, complacent PAX, or "complaining PAX." I didn't have a lot of room to work with, as this has to fit on one line of an ACARS screen, so Beta 5 and henceforth will note "Damage: " followed by a one letter code for the different things that could cause damage:
g = Exceeded minimum G. G = Exceeded maximum G. L = Landed too hard. H = Hypoxia. C = Crashed.
And yes, there could be multiple reasons for damage... and they all add up.
As for what was damaged if it was a PAX flight, it could have been baggage or any extra cargo that was loaded. We don't actually hurt PAX, rather we consider it as a complaint about the flying.
