Hi, I'm using FSC with Opus and in the ADMIN after selecting a flight and loading a flight plan if I click on the get weather button I get the message that my Opus weather is 539 hours old and asking if I want to use it. I've gone and checked the settings on the options for all airlines tab under weather options tab and tested it and FSC says that it is all good. BTW, I am loading the weather in the simulator before testing. Anyone know why?
Thanks Mark

Hi Mark, The ACARS notice that any weather is "nnnn" hours old comes from reading the timestamp of the weather file that FSCaptain is looking at. (Which could be any of the ActiveSky engines, FS Global Real WX, FS Real WX, Opus, or any of the REX engines.) When the FSC Admin indicates that it can read a file, it's not validating the data in the file... it's only stating that the file is present and can be read. If the file says it's snowing at the Panama Canal on the first day of summer... or 80F at South Pole Station on any day of the year... then we have to assume that the weather is correct for that location on that date.... Whether you have loaded the external weather engine's weather into the sim is up to you. The FSCaptain ACARS can be configured to first look at the weather in the simulator or the weather from the weather engine file... that's up to each Captain to configure.... Opus usually runs only when the simulator is running - so (as I'm an Opus user too) I usually run my simulator and Opus... and then run the Administrator while I'm in the sim. Then I can do what I need to do in regards to the flight plan....
